Our first major stop is in Telouet to visit a 17th-century kasbah.
Next, we drive towards Ouarzazate, where we will explore the UNESCO-protected Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah and the stunning Taourirt Kasbah. Continuing to Skoura, you'll get to admire the 18th-century Kasbah of Ameridhil. We'll then head to Kalaat Mgouna to visit the lovely Rose Valley.
Our day concludes in the Dades Valley, where you'll enjoy views of Berber villages, unique rock formations known as "monkey toes," and the dramatic Dades Gorges. Dinner and an overnight stay will be at a local riad.
After breakfast at the riad, we'll head to the Todra Gorge, where you can explore the dramatic cliffs and Berber villages. The journey continues through Tinjdad, where we'll stop for lunch, and then to Erfoud and Er-Rissani, known for their stunning Saharan landscapes.
In Merzouga, you'll be welcomed with a glass of mint tea. Relax in your riad or take a walk through Merzouga village. As the day ends, climb the sand dunes barefoot to witness one of the world's most breathtaking sunsets. Overnight stay in your riad.
Wake up early to catch a spectacular sunrise, followed by breakfast in your riad. Today, we'll explore the Merzouga area, starting with a drive around the dunes via the Merzouga Oasis. Visit Khamlia village, a truly African village, where you'll experience the music and lifestyle of the Gnawa people. We'll also visit the Merzouga Lake, home to various bird species.
In Rissani, you'll explore the historical city and its bustling souk. After a nomadic tea ceremony, embark on a camel trek guided by a skilled camel man, riding through the mesmerizing sand-sea of Erg Chebbi. Spend the night in a nomad tent, enjoying a traditional Moroccan dinner and perhaps some Berber music around a campfire. Our camp is equipped with Western-style bathrooms and showers.
We'll wake you early to watch an unforgettable sunrise over the sand dunes. After breakfast, we'll journey to Fes, passing through the Ziz Valley. In Erfoud, famous for its fossils, and the Tafilalt Oasis, you'll see the lush Ziz Gorges. We'll stop for lunch in Errachidia, where you'll experience traditional Berber hospitality.
Our route continues through the Cedar Forest to Azrou, home to endangered Barbary apes, and then to Ifrane, known as "Little Switzerland" for its neat, alpine-style architecture. We'll arrive in Fes by late afternoon for an overnight stay in a local hotel or riad.
After breakfast, we'll explore Fes, Morocco's spiritual and oldest city. Visit the Royal Palace gate, the Al Qaraouine University, the Tanneries, and the Attarine Museum. After lunch, we'll wander through Fes El Bali, a UNESCO World Heritage site filled with bustling souks, narrow alleyways, and historical monuments like Bab Boujloud. In the evening, we'll visit the new city for a drink before returning to your hotel or riad.
After breakfast, we'll drive to Volubilis to explore Morocco's most famous Roman ruins. Next, we'll visit Meknes, an imperial city with the grand Bab El Mansur gate, the Sahrij Souani Basin, and the Moulay Ismail Mausoleum. Our journey continues to Rabat for an overnight stay in a hotel or riad.
