Itinerary

Day 1: Marrakech → High Atlas Mountains → Ait Benhaddou → Dades Valley

Your adventure begins with an early morning pick-up from your accommodation in Marrakech. We ascend into the High Atlas Mountains, crossing the dramatic Tizi n'Tichka pass (2,260m), with stops for photos of the stunning panoramic views. Our main stop is the legendary Kasbah of Ait Benhaddou, a UNESCO World Heritage site that has starred in films like Gladiator. After exploring this fortified village, we continue through Ouarzazate, the Skoura Oasis, and the fragrant Valley of Roses. Our day ends in the spectacular Dades Valley, where we'll check into a hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 2: Dades Valley → Todra Gorges → Erfoud → Merzouga (Erg Chebbi Dunes)

After breakfast, we'll admire the unique "monkey fingers" rock formations of the Dades Valley before heading to the Todra Gorges. Here, you'll have time to walk along the riverbed between the towering 300-meter-high canyon walls. Our journey continues east through the fossil-rich town of Erfoud. As we approach Merzouga, the landscape transforms into the iconic golden dunes of Erg Chebbi. Here, you'll meet your camel caravan for a memorable 1.5-hour trek into the Sahara. We'll arrive at our traditional Berber desert camp in time to witness a spectacular sunset. The evening includes a delicious Moroccan dinner, Berber music around a campfire, and stargazing in the clear desert sky.

Day 3: Merzouga → Ziz Valley → Midelt → Azrou Forest → Ifrane

Wake up early to the magic of a Sahara sunrise, a truly unforgettable experience. After breakfast at the camp, you'll ride your camel back to Merzouga to meet your driver. Today’s journey takes us north, leaving the desert behind. We'll travel through the vast Ziz Valley, a lush oasis of palm groves. Our route continues through the Middle Atlas Mountains, stopping for lunch in the town of Midelt, known as Morocco's "apple capital." In the afternoon, we'll drive through the cedar forests of Azrou, where we may spot Barbary macaque monkeys. Our final stop before our destination is Ifrane, a charming town known as "Little Switzerland" for its alpine-style architecture. We'll spend the night here in a local hotel.

Day 4: Ifrane → Fes

Enjoy a leisurely breakfast in Ifrane. Depending on your preference, you can spend the morning exploring this unique town or we can depart directly for Fes. The drive is short and scenic, descending from the mountains. We will arrive in Fes by early afternoon, where your driver will drop you off at your riad or hotel, concluding your epic 4-day journey across Morocco.
