Itinerary
Day 1: Marrakech → Imlil → Trek to Tizi Mzik Pass Your adventure begins in Marrakech as we drive to Imlil, the gateway to the High Atlas. After meeting your mountain guide, we start a trek up to the Tizi Mzik pass (2,489m), offering stunning views of the Imlil Valley. We descend to the village of Tamsoult for an overnight stay in a local guesthouse or mountain refuge. (Approx. 5-6 hours trekking).
Day 2: Trek from Tamsoult to Imlil Valley After breakfast, we trek back towards Imlil via a different route, passing through waterfalls and enjoying the lush, terraced landscapes. The afternoon is for relaxing in Imlil and experiencing the quiet rhythm of mountain life. We'll spend the night in a guesthouse in the Imlil area.
Day 3: Imlil → Tizi n'Tichka → Dades Valley We leave the mountains and cross the dramatic Tizi n'Tichka pass. Our journey takes us to Ait Benhaddou, the famous UNESCO-listed kasbah. After exploring this historic site, we continue through the Valley of Roses to the spectacular Dades Valley, where we'll stay overnight.
Day 4: Dades Valley → Todra Gorges Trek This morning is for exploring the Dades Valley, including a walk to see the "monkey fingers" rock formations. We then drive to the Todra Gorges, where you'll embark on a 3-4 hour guided trek through the palm groves and up into the canyon, offering perspectives that most visitors miss. We'll spend the night in a hotel near the gorge.
Day 5: Todra Gorges → Merzouga → Sunset Camel Trek Our journey continues to the Sahara. We travel through arid landscapes before the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi appear. In Merzouga, you'll meet your camel caravan for a magical trek into the desert. We arrive at a traditional Berber camp for sunset, dinner, and a night under the stars.
Day 6: Full Day Sahara Exploration (4x4 & Camels) Wake to a desert sunrise. Today is for deep exploration.
